Pros

A membership for you & a friend / family member

Cons

Bullying culture, horrible atmosphere, no HR department so no help given, people have been in this place that long that they can literally get away with anything because its to expensive or time consuming to go through a disciplinary procedure. Money is everything to them. Budgets and targets, they dont care about how staff are - if you speak to them you are an inconvenience and they will make it difficult so that you have no option but to leave for your own sanity. Worse place i have ever worked, i used to love working in leisure and this company has ruined my outlook on this & ruined my mental state, they hold people back and don’t help with progression- even when you have the drive and ambition. If you want to get somewhere in leisure and progress - please do not work here!

Pros

Large company with options to relocate around the country, if you wanted to. Very good with health and safety procedures, majority of processes ready to be implemented.

Cons

Very sales driven. Targets, KPIs and profits are prioritised over colleagues and members. Sales team expected to give up personal time on end of month. You're expected to check and respond to emails when you're off or on annual leave. The company is very clique, you don't really progress unless you know someone in a senior role. Salary is always advertised as 'competitive' however, the pay doesn't justify the work you're required to do, or the extra time you work without pay. It's frown upon to claim for time worked outside of your contracted hours. There is no such thing as work life balance: you're expected to work day all the time and not be paid for it.
