Pros

The work schedule allows you 6 days off 2x a month. If you are single or have a partner that works the job also and have a vagabond spirit this will allow you to explore! The company pays relatively well for the industry they work in. The owners care about the work that they are doing and make it a focus to be present. This differs from many jobs I have worked were the owners are just a picture on the webpage. Each one of the owners are gifted in their respected roles. Brad and Matt are amazing clinicians and you will be grateful for the chance to sit in session with them. Rick is the other owner and he works at the Cascades branch so I haven't ever spent time with him. The field department is made up of 3 field directors. They all work extremely hard and are always available to help support you through the challenges you experience at this job. Without their support I would have left much sooner. Some companies only have one field director so this is a huge plus of the job.

Cons

The days are long. 14-15 hours has become the average meaning that the pay you are getting really isn't that great compared to other jobs outside of this specific industry, less than $11 an hour for newer staff. The work is emotionally challenging and can be physically violent as well depending on the clients. I have experienced staff being punched, kicked, head butted, spit on, and one staff had part of her ear bit off. The number of staff injuries is going up compared to a year or two ago. These things become normalized in the work and what's real is this isn't normal outside of this industry. The consistency of staff and quality at this company has dropped off significantly. It used to be a place that staff stayed for 2+ years and as of late, it seems that maybe a year is the max. This in turn decreases the overall quality of the experience for staff and clients, making your job harder as an experienced staff. The highest level management are unapproachable, maybe cold is a better description. They have always been nice to my face, however I have heard on multiple accounts how they speak negatively about staff in what has been described as unprofessional and create un-needed drama. This information seems like it is common knowledge amongst the field staff and just a part of the company culture. I wonder at times if the owners are aware because this seems so different than the message they strive for? It doesn't create a trusting environment nor does it represent the company. Like I said, if it wasn't for the 3 field directors, I would have left sooner. The message is that they care about the people, and this is true for 90% of the management. Unfortunately the 10% have more power and are a poor representation of what this company could be.

Pros

Phenomenal staff support culture, connections with the most amazing humans you’ll ever meet. No job will ever give you more fulfillment or feel more meaningful.

Cons

Definitely a hard job emotionally and physically. You’ll be tested in *every* way but you’ll grow SO much through it.
