Pros

Meeting some awesome coworkers, having a profession in helping kids overcome their psychological struggles, living outside for 8 days with 6 days off.

Cons

Specifically about the Utah location: Disorganization in management, favoritism by how much you party with your bosses, and extremely cliquey environment. The concepts being taught to the students are not being practiced by staff or management. Poor communication and mistreatment of young girls that have dealt with sexual trauma. Maybe I just disagree with screaming at people to get them to do what you want? You're won't be paid enough for what you have to go through in the field. Most students aren't the hard part, its having ineffective teams or people that are not team players with you in the field. Your alone time will be limited to an hour (if that) a day + sleeping time in which you will probably be laying ontop of a tarp that is burrito-ing a student who may run away in the middle of the night. Be fully aware of what you're getting into with this company. Wilderness therapy is an amazing concept, when done right and with people that follow the ethics they try to teach! Research the other companies in Utah if you're looking into this one, there are a ton that are better to work for.

Pros

Phenomenal staff support culture, connections with the most amazing humans you’ll ever meet. No job will ever give you more fulfillment or feel more meaningful.

Cons

Definitely a hard job emotionally and physically. You’ll be tested in *every* way but you’ll grow SO much through it.
