The pay is decent but below market value for a chemical manufacturing plant. The workload is reasonable.
Cons
Too much emphasis on seniority, lack of diversity (gender & race), nepotism. Not great on-boarding and training. Very much trial by fire.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are very happy to receive more input from you at employerbranding@evonik.com.
Our goal is to set standards in our diversity management that contribute significantly to our business success. We have agreed upon specific annual targets for the diversity dimensions of gender and nationality and continue to refine our efforts to have an increasingly diverse workforce.
Pay is good, bonuses are low, benefits have decreased every year
Lunch in cafeteria is great
Shift relief time was good, had enough time after work to be with family
We sure miss Bonnie out there , she’s great.
Cons
Micromanaging - Extreme lack of trust
Overall morale for the whole site is way down starting from 2018
Bias
Backstabbing
Incompetency - certain employees promoted to next level without actually knowing or understanding the process
No work life balance, we’re told that doesn’t apply to production workers. Overtime hours avg 400-700 hours a year
No room for employee growth or thoughts on process productivity/troubleshooting acknowledged if you’re not in the clique
3-2-2-3 shift schedule swapping from nights to day each time led to overall fatigue. Needs to be 2 weeks of nights and 2 weeks of days.
HR is an overall joke, they used to be superb until COVID and the new site manager.
Preach safety but turn a blind eye when it’s convenient to reach production. Then fault the operators or maintenance personnel if something happens.
