Pros

Quarterly bonuses available based on position and company's current performance. Stock awarded in addition to compensation increase during Q1 of each year

Cons

I got fired 2 hours after I had my quarterly review stating I was doing a great job and making a big difference for the department and the customers we served. My entire department was eliminated on a Monday afternoon, with VP leadership stating a need for outsourcing and cost-cutting measures, the typical "we need to be agile to stay competitive" and "think lean with our spending", the typical corpo speak for "we are cutting positions because AI and we want more money". The very next morning, the company had an earnings call with investors and announced they had their most profitable quarter ever in the company's history. A month later, the company announced it was being bought out by Abbott Laboratories.

Pros

Meaningful mission focused on improving cancer detection and patient outcomes. Talented and intelligent coworkers who genuinely care about helping patients. Strong training and onboarding resources

Cons

My experience at Exact Sciences was disappointing. On the surface, the culture seemed friendly, but leadership often played political games. My direct manager, who had transitioned from sales into an associate-director-level role in customer success, frequently told people what they wanted to hear but rarely followed through. It became clear that appearances and personal advancement mattered more than honesty, accountability, or team support. Employees hoping for transparent, trustworthy leadership may find this environment frustrating
