Pros
Good freinds can be made here through your mutual contempt of your job. Most jobs are very easy to do as there's no competent oversight around performance!
Cons
Serious and outdated boys club culture. Only people who drink or golf with the directors are looked after. Performance or skills are irrelevant. Don't come here if you're looking for a career because you won't get one. You'll be left to rot. Your surname is more important than experience or skills. Related to a director/senior staff? Come on in! The company is decades behind the competition in terms of staff training and development, pay, technology, and processes. Dinosaur directors don't care about the little guy as long as they get thier bonuses. Every week a new director seems to come on board, but then there's no money available for a pay rise for front line workers. In fact, there hasn't been any pay increases in over 7 years, not even for cost of living increase. There's also no pay reviews at all. Ever. No matter how well you do. The constant buying of smaller companies is used to hide the steady and rapid decline of the original core business, which is failing due to leaders who haven't got a clue what they are doing. And, if you speak up about it, you're punished. Work comfort is non existant. Air con has been broken since day one but over 2 years later it still isn't fixed, you either freeze or boil, no in between. Half the car parking spaces needed for the staff so you have to walk from down the road rain or shine. Toilets are constantly broken, not an exaggeration, there always at least one broken or clogged. Seats are the cheapest they could find and half are broken. Cafe is extortiantly overpriced for what is reheated microwaved undercooked food. Appalling culture, useless management, new ideas being ignored, wildly different pay structures for the exact same job depending on your popularity with senior staff, make this place one to avoid like the plague. Its not a surprise the staff turnover here is massive and anyone talented leaves to a rival.
