Pros

Individual colleagues were excellent to work with. Huge amount of talent.

Cons

- Shiny object syndrome with no real consistency to work towards a long term strategy or goal. No clear shared goal, just lots of generalised goals that are fairly standard for any business. Nothing unique or special. No clear reason for being. - Focus is consistently on the latest fad or tactic. - No real commitment to any specific market segment or speciality. - Not enough emphasis on supporting commercial mindedness throughout the team. - Bad financial planning, with multiple mass resignations or firings. - Not enough action, too many meetings and micromanagement. - Always a thirst to use the latest fad and growth hack, instead of committing to sustainable long term growth. Leads to a lack of trust going both ways between leadership and the rest of the team. - Not enough team work between contractors and full and part time employees. Likely due to a complete lack of long term vision and strategy. There is nothing gluing these different segments of the business together and no amount of ‘games nights’ can fix that.

Pros

100% remote The consultant team is fantastic although decimated. Some opportunities to work with big corporate clients.

Cons

Management does not have a plan and have absolutely destroyed the culture with their lack of empathy and unethical conduct. They routinely invest huge amounts of time into trying to win projects that they do not have the capability for and retain clients that no longer want to continue the relationship. The company has more than halved in size, the mass resignations have changed nothing. In fact, management's response to consultants that resigned has been emotional and cruel. There is zero employee retention, it is clear they consider people disposable and only care about getting profits up front whether or not it is sustainable long term. They have no policies in place around business or client management practices which leaves everyone vulnerable to abuse by both Exo and clients. When relationships with clients inevitably sour due to the lack of internal policies around building relationships and establishing terms of engagement, consultants are openly criticised for allowing the client to become unsatisfied with work that was poorly scoped and over promised. They have suspended all the 'perks' that they offered and suggested that this is because the culture is fine and it's time to focus on clients. They offer the consultants no support, no real way to raise concerns and no way to have performance reviews.
