Pros

The best thing about working at ETS was the people. If that's one thing they got right was hiring in people who were just very cool, friendly and funny. Really enjoyed meeting my colleagues every day. Benefits were quite good - every other Friday we were allowed to take half a day off and we got 35 days (plus bank hols) holiday - although some people didn't know what to do with so much holiday! Got to work with some very large organisations.

Cons

Pretty much everything else was broken though.... Workload was ridiculous, it was fairly normal for people to be working over 60 hours a week on average. I saw people crying at their desks (and yes the men too) due to the amount of pressure and stress and there was little if any sympathy. They didn't pay for the overtime either - we got nothing for it except sometimes an email patting us on the back... Or some "kudos" in the weekly meeting... The directors were next to useless. They don't know how to manage people although the company itself makes it money from telling other companies how to manage theirs! Due to all of this the staff turnover there is shocking - very few people stay for more than two years. In the time I was there (just over a year) I saw over 20 people leave (willingly or unwillingly). For a company which has under 60 employees that's got to ring a few alarm bells. But the senior management turn a blind eye to it and think it's "normal"...

Pros

I worked at ETS for 7 years, and looking back, the most striking thing is how genuinely friendly and approachable everyone is. From day one, I felt welcomed by colleagues who are always willing to lend a hand or share advice. The culture is mission-driven—people care deeply about the impact of their work, and that shared purpose creates a sense of unity and belonging. There’s a remarkable feeling that you’re part of a family. One of the standout aspects is their best-in-class employee engagement tools. The systems they use to gather feedback and measure engagement are the most effective I’ve seen—transparent, easy to use, and taken seriously by management. Combined with solid technology and modern tools to do your job efficiently, ETS provides an environment where you feel heard, supported, and empowered.

Cons

Honestly, it’s hard to find major negatives when you feel so supported. Like any company, there are occasional growing pains and evolving processes, but the people and the mission make it all worthwhile.

Pros

Supportive management, plenty of opportunities to learn and grow, open-minded environment, and generous holiday allowance.

Cons

Financial constraints are a recurring challenge; the organisation can be overly cautious with risk-taking.
