Pros

Higher-than-average salaries in your offer letter (but they won't pay you on time, so this is a moot point, see below) Benefits are pretty good, but with their history of vendor payments you never know if coverage is active

Cons

The most prominent problem is that they do not pay employees on time. They will blame this on accounting, on the bank, on the weather, on ANYTHING that they think might be believable, but eventually you will find out that the company just doesn't have any money to pay employees. When a customer payment comes in they will decide which bill is most important and pay that. BTW they will say that the payroll problems are only in India, but this is not true. Payroll is a problem in both the US and India. The CEO is a pompous jerk. He will completely sell you on the idea of Expertus during your interview by being passionate, animated, and charming, but after you are hired the act goes away. He walks around the office with a sourpuss look on his face, staring down at his feet. He is all about outward appearances. He drives a fancy BMW, that the company pays for, needs to be in a lush office building, wears expensive clothes, but this act can only go on for so long. He SCREAMS at his management team. He closes the door, but the walls are paper thin so everyone can hear. Software is not being paid for and consistently will be shut off. This applies to even small things, like LinkedIn subscriptions. The company doesn't have $60 in the bank to pay for this. The product is lacking. Customers are not happy with what we make. This hinders sales, which affects everything else. Upper management does not believe in telecommuting. They would rather have you sit at your desk for 8 hours, watching Netflix, than work 12 hours at home and actually be productive. Appearances are everything to this company. They have separate vacation and sick days. They don't do PTO here. And you have to accrue this! It's not unlimited like 99% of Bay Area companies. This company does not trust you (which is ironic considering that the CEO is not to be trusted). All of the RSMs and client services team is remote, and upper management does not trust that they actually working.

Pros

The people and the culture at Expertus are as good as any small business. I've truly enjoyed my time and I believe most people in the office feel the same way.

Cons

Since the product is still fairly new to the market, money is lacking, but the product is strong enough to pull through.

Pros

Nice leaders on the surface. Accepting of remote work scenarios.

Cons

Unclear strategy. Priorities constantly shift without warning or explanation. Worst of all, after outstanding invoices accumulated for 10 years, I decided I could no longer work without compensation. So, I attempted to map out a workout plan (without even charging interest) to reduce the payment backlog for 10 years of service. Although they gladly received all my deliverables (many are still used by the company to this day), I received no compensation whatsoever. No communication about why I was ignored, or how to recover even some of the unpaid invoices. After I moved on, they simply ghosted me. A devastating relationship, financially, not to mention the time I lost that could have been invested in advancing other companies' agendas. Incredibly unprofessional, unethical. And to my knowledge downright illegal. But with grace from me and others who have been treated similarly, the company goes on.
