Pros

At Exterion Media you will enjoy the benefit of some of the best inventory the UK OOH industry has to offer including - the ad space for London Underground, UK bus, & National Rail. In terms of coverage, campaigns can be created using various insight tools and data - creating truly targeted campaigns. The products on offer here are some of the best I have ever represented. Wonderful central offices - with an agile working practice. Free breakfast every morning

Cons

Unfortunately while the products are fantastic this is somewhat overshadowed by a macho bullying culture. Not a single member of the board is female which results in an innevitable air of misogyny from the top down. ‘Pretty faces sell spaces’ a term celebrated daily within the Exterion Culture. In addition, issues relating to pay, maternity, and grievances with senior male staff are somewhat overlooked within the environment. There is also a severe lack of leadership from the senior management team and unfortunately this translates into a very chaotic and disjointed workplace. The systems are archaic and not fit for purpose. And the general level of pay is lower than similar roles within the industry.

Exterion Media Response

Thanks for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review; we really do appreciate your constructive feedback and the opportunity to respond. We have some awesome insight and data to underpin our fantastic products; this means we can really understand our client’s requirements and provide valuable and measurable advertising solutions. That said, we are concerned about your feedback about our culture. We have worked really hard over the past few years to create an inclusive, diverse, rewarding and engaging culture – this has been led by our People and Culture Director, Karen. Incidentally, Karen is one of 3 females that are part of our Operating and Commercial boards. We’re also part of Balance, an industry wide group that collaborate to bring greater diversity to the advertising industry and, this year, our International Women’s Day programme of events received fantastic feedback. Check out the blog write up here: https://www.exterionmedia.com/uk/about-us/latest-news/our-blog/exterion-media-celebrates-international-womens-week. When it comes to investment, we not only support and develop our people, including our management and leadership populations but also, over the past few years, we’ve taken a long, hard look at our systems and, with the support of our IT wizards, we’ve developed some fantastic new and ground breaking technology which is making life better for our people and customers.
