Pros
Pay opportunities are great from the start. If you want to work somewhere you are over paid and under worked get hired at an ARTCC for the FAA. CEO appears to be trying to send the right messages out to leadership but it falls on deaf ears.
Cons
The initial training is a waste of millions of tax payers dollars that last two months and teaches you nothing you need to know to do the job. Then you sit around for months waiting for next school. And then once you have been there for 18 months you can finally be certified to actually do your job. Can't speak for all locations but the Farmington Minnesota ARTCC management is some of the worst people I have ever met in regards to caring for you as a human being. They discriminate but do so discreetly and as a team against you. Shift work. Unchallenging work in communications shop.
