Pros
Decent pay for a technician and opportunities to move up into management. All the federal benefits and job security once you're past your probation period. I work with good people.
Cons
Bureaucracy...mountains of rules & regs...not too many incentives to perform well, compared to the private sector-you're not going to get a fat bonus or raise for going above and beyond. There's no steps within pay bands.
