Pros
- Was fortunate to work with few good people, especially my immediate manager - was close to the location where I stayed - Job security is okay, if you are content with a passive career with little to no growth
Cons
- FIS was previously Sungard which was a very good company and so I had joined it. But soon FIS bought it and things went south. - The management isn't great and there is no room for growth no matter what your contribution is. I contributed to the highest level (read global), but was not treat fairly in return. - Plus they wouldn't pay well and all the employee friendly policies of Sungard are being removed or converted to, for company's benefit. - Typical micro management is slowly creeping in with finger print scanners to checkin, half day if you do not complete 9 work hours, no more work from home, you do not get to invite your parent for annual parties and the list goes on. - Despite of some job security, there have been instances where they have fired people even without telling them. People found out the next day when their access card stopped working, so that was pretty unprofessional. - Lastly, the HR department is not trustworthy. One one hand they would ask you for your current salary while joining and expect you to join immediately but when you join, you realize that you can't share your offered salary details with anyone else and you will have to serve a 3 month long notice period with no negotiations. That is like having double standards.
