Pros

Benefits are decent; nothing superseding employer standards

Cons

The leadership is entirely out of touch with its employees and the needs of the workplace. The upper management seems unaware of how to communicate and interact with their staff. The pedestals they have placed themselves on have resulted in obnoxious egos, entitlement, and a sense of disconnect from reality outside of FM Global's walls. Everyone turns a blind eye to these characteristics that they have enabled, and it has become a bedrock for the FM Global culture. There is a significant lack of support for employee flexibility, resulting in high dissatisfaction and burnout among the staff. Many employees have requested flexible scheduling or remote work options, but senior leadership has consistently disregarded these requests. Leadership has shown little interest in listening to employee feedback, even though many employees have voiced their concerns. This disregard for employee feedback has resulted in a lack of trust and respect among the workforce, leading to a significant decrease in morale. During last year's employee engagement survey, concerns about the return to office demands were vocalized by employees. The CEO and senior leadership should have considered this feedback and focused on the input they supported. “Knowledge sharing” has been vocalized as the focus of mandating a return to the office. This is a blatant masking of the truth, which is that the CEO would instead build exuberant office space instead of listening to employees and what is important to them as an employer. I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking a supportive and inclusive work environment. The lack of support for employee flexibility and the disregard for employee feedback demonstrates an evident lack of consideration for the workforce's wellbeing.

Pros

The benefits are decent with a modest pension.

Cons

Managers are less knowledgeable by the day and so are the frontline workers. There has been a serious decline in knowledge and skills over the past few years but senior management isn't doing anything about it. We assume they don't even notice. The game plan seems to be that AI will take care of everything. Good luck with that. When things start to unravel in a few years every manager will blame someone below them. Maybe then the board of directors will start paying attention to the serious mismanagement that our CEO seems so gleefully proud of.
