Pros

- opportunity to gain exposure and experience within of the leading retail group in Greece and Southeast Europe - good learning opportunity for professionals looking to understand how large organisations operate - experience working in a complex business environment with multiple stakeholders, cross-functional collaboration and interaction with senior managers and directors

Cons

- compensation levels are significantly below market expectations considering the responsibilities, workload and standards expected from employees - the company lacks a clear and consistent culture. Following leadership changes and ongoing digital transformation initiatives, there appears to be limited focus on employee engagement, well-being and people development - salary increases and bonus outcomes often differ substantially from communicated expectations, creating frustration and reducing trust in the performance management process - while salaries are paid on time, this was often achieved through the efforts of dedicated employees whose contributions were rarely recognised. Many experienced ICs who supported critical operational functions have since left the group - career progression and promotions lack transparency, with no feedback, measurable criteria or objective evidence provided to support advancement decisions - leadership appointments do not appear to be aligned with the expertise required for the roles, resulting in ineffective decision-making and reduced confidence among team members - there is a noticeable gap between management and employees, with staff feedback frequently overlooked or undervalued - employee retention has become a significant challenge, with high turnover in some teams, leading to loss knowledge, continuity and morale - technical and specialised teams are managed by individuals with limited understanding of the subject matter, making it super difficult to establish credibility, provide effective guidance or make informed decisions - communication from management could occasionally feel dismissive or overly hierarchical, leaving employees feeling that their expertise and professional judgment are not respected
