Pros
Good brand, decent products, has positive traction within the sustainability world and a nice sales & marketing office in the centre of Manchester. Flexibility around working hours and 2 days from home as well as Friday half day.
Cons
Shocking leadership and ownership, it has taken this company 50 years to get to a double digit Million revenue and that only really happened as they were selling soap during the pandemic.
The powers that be, are clueless and have had a HUGE turnover of staff in the last few years and this continues to happen because the business is being sucked dry by other projects and businesses that the ownership run. No new employee stays for longer than 2 years because the business is such a car crash and one of their sites doesn't even have a roof whilst another doesn’t have central heating. The last CEO was 20 years past his expiry date and had no idea how to connect with the brand, the challenges or the people, yet the family hired him which just shows how out of touch they are with their own business.
Also, No mobile phones, very basic pension, very basic healthcare, no drinking policy on work nights out, no sick pay (straight SSP if you’re off), zero perks working here.
