Pros

If you are a fly fisher, working here is great. You have access to top of the line rods to borrow, and great discounts on gear. the work generally isn't difficult, although its repetitive. depending on your position, the pay can be pretty good. the benefits are alright. They do take a lot of pride int heir product and customer service. The upper management are generally all really nice and approachable people. Scott, The production manager is probably my favorite person there and he really made me feel appreciated and valued.

Cons

policies are not applied evenly in the company, they can differ greatly between departments. the work can be boring and repetitive. The supervisors generally don't know how to do the jobs of the people they are supporting, which means they cant provide feedback on how to improve an have to rely on other employees for the training, which is always distracted. It's basically impossible to be promoted, especially if you work on the production floor. you can move between production departments, but not into the front office. they rarely promote from within, generally hiring from the outside. There tends to be cliques and its hard to break in to one. all of the production departments have to work insane overtime (6 days a week, 10hrs a day) during various parts of the year, for warranty its more than half the year. The supervisors however, don't work this overtime. There is also a lot of turn over

Pros

Company discounts on products is great.

Cons

Due to the nature of the industry, compensation tends to be lower than average for similar roles elsewhere. Working here is more of a lifestyle choice. Unless you're in Sales, Marketing, or R&D—where high-end trips and photo ops are part of the package—you're likely to face low wages, limited advancement, and mandatory overtime, particularly in customer service and production roles. There’s a growing sense of branding fatigue. The company repeatedly showcases the same image/person—aimed at a young, bearded, hipster demographic—while forgetting its core customer base: older anglers who can actually afford premium gear. Culturally, the company can feel very cliquey. Office staff often overlook production employees, and too many departments fall under the Marketing VP’s control. Leadership lacks diversity and still operates like an old boys’ club. It’s no surprise that female employees rarely stick around for long.
