Pros

Pay is okay but compared to other places I have worked you need to put in way more hours and effort to make a good buck. Training is well done for the most part. Good discounts.

Cons

Even though the training is well done for the most part, they try to get you to live, breathe, and love the blue(Fastenal). The ideal candidate for this company is a young person with little to no experience in Sales/Retail that Fastenal can mold into another one of their blue bleeding drones. Not a great place for someone that values their personal life and family. False promises and lies. I left a great and well paying job to start at Fastenal after being assured advancement within a given period. After this period had been pushed back twice with unreasonable reasons as to why I finally had enough and quit. The manager at our branch had less training than most of the staff which often left the staff with extra workload. Lastly, in this company all of the higher ups (District Managers and higher) talk a big game but if the sh!t hits the fan the blame game starts, it gets tossed back and forth till it usually lands on the store managers. None of them have the balls to admit that they dropped the ball. Thankfully our manager didn't take things out on the staff but I did feel bad for the things our manager had to put up with.
