Pros

Work from home days Great co-workers

Cons

We just let go of seven employees yesterday. It's always sad when employees are let go. I'm very disappointed in management. They really destroyed the business over the last few years. I'm not sure if we are turning a profit anymore. It's not like the old days when this company was managed by people that truly understood marketing. It just feels like everything fell apart. Anyway, I need to express my unhappiness with certain individuals. In particular, our new COO. We let go of seven people yesterday and this person decides to have a celebration with his chosen few in a nearby conference room. I heard cheering and screaming and was stunned that anyone would celebrate on a day when seven employees were let go. They were celebrating this person's promotion to COO. To top it off, they were drinking champaign. I had a long discussion with my husband last night and we decided I should leave my job without first finding a new job. I just can't believe it came down to this. This company is managed by some really selfish and untrustworthy people.

Pros

This is definitely a great place to start a career to get access to different areas of marketing. There are smart people who work here and are generally kind.

Cons

Fathom, like many marketing agencies, has a culture where favoritism plays a significant role. The work environment can feel cliquish, and management often makes abrupt changes to processes without clear communication. Compensation at the start is incredibly lacking, and recent changes have only made things worse. Most of the account team has been pushed into sales roles, a shift that has impacted both morale and overall job satisfaction without a corresponding adjustment in pay. Following its acquisition by IQVIA, the agency has become heavily focused on healthcare marketing, limiting the variety of clients that once made the work more dynamic. Additionally, the company tends to reward and applaud those who work nights and weekends, creating an expectation of overwork rather than a healthy work-life balance. These changes have contributed to an increasingly toxic culture, making it a challenging place to work for those who value stability and professional growth.
