I met some people that honestly try to do their best work. The company seems to be doing ok in its niche. Competitive pay to the area, clean office environment.
Cons
I've seen some of the weirdest business practices while working at this place, that are borderline unethical. I frequently heard one thing being said, and the exact opposite happening. To be objective in my review, I'll present my specific observations: * I was told that talent and hard work is the only thing that matters, but nepotism is everywhere. Even on their website you'll see executives sharing last names with other employees. Other employees went to the same school with the exec's children, or in the same masonic lodge (!) * The company declares diversity, but executives and managers are members of a masonic lodge. I don't know what exactly they do there, but it's officially a men-only organization, that doesn't exactly have a strong history of diversity. I don't understand why they bring this to work. * There's a practice of demotions, firing, and rehiring. This can be seen by checking the LinkedIn profiles of some managers. The only motivating factor is to not get fired with no warning. * There's complete disregard to employee career aspirations. I've seen people moved to positions irrelevant to their skills for short-term company benefit. There's no investment in education. * I've seen cases where a new challenge was thrown at people, without support or training, to make them "sink or swim", treating to fire if they don't show exceptional results. I've seen multiple people thrown together on the same task to see who gets on top and who bites the dust. * There's no tolerance for mistakes, big or small (unless you're a relative), resulting in zero psychological safety. * I was clearly told that the executives are not interested in any form of collaboration and only exercise authority to make decisions, it's "my way or the highway" on every decision level. * I was told that the executives appreciate data to make and support decisions, but I've only seen decisions based on intuition and feelings of the moment, without any explanations. Overall this is an organization with very toxic and manipulative leadership that made me question my worth as a professional and a human, caused me to lose trust in my future managers, but I'm working on it in a much healthier company. If you take a job in this company because it's better than unemployment, build the highest possible psychological wall between yourself and this organization, don't believe anything you're hearing, and keep looking for a better opportunity, where they value people, teams, and opinions.
