Pros
CEO Griffin seems like a nice guy.
I like the mission of the company.
Paid interview process is considerate and appreciated.
Cons
You can expect some pretty intense micromanagement working for these folks. They flat out do not trust the people they hire.
While Griffin, the face of the company, seems like a nice guy, he's not very involved in day to day operations. That's handled by another individual who frankly has no idea what he's doing.
They're facing a multitude of business challenges that have already been solved by most companies, yet they refuse to learn or adjust their bizarre and inefficient processes. Questioning or suggesting improvements to these processes is viewed as a lack of "humility" and a challenge to their authority.
They have a weird obsession with the word "outcome".
They have a very complicated application process, and at the last minute, they changed my job title and description of the role with zero explaination or transparency.
The tasks they gave showed a complete lack of marketing accumen. For example, "build a marketing plan that is guaranteed to deliver 10 leads" when they have like 13 visitors to their site.
We discussed the tasks and expectations before starting, with the understanding that they would take 15-30 hours a week. Once I started, it became "get it all done in 6 hours". Completely unreasonable and done in bad faith IMO.
They want to hire experts, but have no intention of taking expert advice. Why bother?
