Good management experiece, terrible work/life balance - General Manager Finish Line Employee Review

Pros

Great management experience. As a General Manager, the company wants you to run the store as if you own it. Salary is pretty average but there is a great bonus structure. There is plenty of opportunity for growth although you "must" be willing to relocate. Obviously the discount was a great perk.

Cons

Work life balance for Store Managers is virtually non-existant. Minimum of 44 hours each week(55 during peak seasons) with one weekend day, one weekend night, and every other Sunday. If the store is on pace to overspend weekly labor budget (which is obviously already insufficient), store manager is required to cut down on staff and work the hours themselves as they are paid a salary and only account for 44 of the designated labor hours. Vacation/Time-Off blackout periods. Also thought that District Manager's don't always make the best hiring decisions - disliked the feeling that some of my counterparts were as inept as they were but still employed.
