Pros

Benefits are above industry standard and started first day of employment. Vacation time are adequate.

Cons

Expected to put in excessive work hours with no extra overtime, no time for family. Company advancement is through the old boys club. Lay offs without warning or explanations. I would not recommend Finning as there are no long-term advantages and you are better off at a place of employment where you are treated with compassion and empathy. Company is top heavy and this is where most of the profits are spent rather than in the trenches where the real work is being done.

Pros

Good and hard working employees for the most part, standard industry benefits and great business model for growth

Cons

Many changes within BP&S team in the past few months without leadership or strategic approach; Hiring and keeping expensive contractors instead of keeping knowledgable employees. The CIO acts as a bully and there is no oversight on his costly decisions and the chaos he has created. He was given the ultimate authority by the past leadership team and since they have left Finning, the new leadership team has not assessed CIO’s negative impact and outcomes so far. Moral is low and BP&S employees seem lost while the new CIO brings in more of his people on high paid roles and contracts.
