Pros

Unfortunately Fireforge was only able to extend a contract for the time being, otherwise I would have loved to stay. Fireforge is filled with great talent. The senior staff is well experienced and seasoned in the gaming industry. It's a casual and fun environment. Everyone is friendly- there isn't a single person I felt intimidated to talk to in the entire office. The company is about 50 people and it definitely felt more like a family type of environment. It was a great experience to be a part of the company, even for a short time.

Cons

There are some organization issues that leadership is aware of and tackling down.

Pros

The staff is a mix of veterans and junior members which really makes working here fun and interesting. There is a lot of hands on development experience from a variety of other studios, which is balanced well by the enthusiasm and creativity of the younger staff. Basically everyone here is pretty cool, and I have yet to have a negative interaction with anyone. Great strides have been made in hiring the mid-level management positions to oversee development (and their experience is epic), as well as in refining the project management aspect of the development process. The executives and managers are honest and truly care about the staff, and I believe that their vision will enable us to reach our goals. The new office is really nice and they try really hard to make the working environment fun.

Cons

Still a startup, with many of the challenges that come with not having shipped a product yet. For some of the staff who have not worked at a studio before and do not understand the business side of the industry, every bump is met with a degree of fear. As with all studios, there are crunch times, but they don't seem to last as long as I've experienced in the past.
