Pros

Lots to learn if you're willing. Some of the people there are great but have moved on from what I hear.

Cons

For profit "non profit" VERY low pay No appreciation from management Very few raises Favoritism in every department No upward mobility This place will stab you in the back the first chance they get. No matter how hard you work, how much you learn, or how irreplaceable you think you are, guess again. They gather loads of grants, hire everyone they can to fulfill those terms, and fire everyone they can when the money runs out. If you do get hired, expect to be "let go due to down sizing" in the near future. I saw an entire department of dedicated, hard working, and proven employees get let go only to have their positions fulled by lower paid new hires!

Pros

Does not require experience. Good to get your foot in the door with vet med.

Cons

Bad management. They DO NOT PROMOTE FROM WITHIN. People in supervisor and above positions are hired from outside. They make there lower level staff train their PMs and Supervisors. They will hire people into those positions with either little to no vet med experience or who have not worked in the field for 5-10 YEARS. You will be over worked every single day. You will have clients screaming and threatening you at least once a week. Most (not all) of the doctors do not care about the patients. They will actively complain if you ask them to see a walk in and will complain when there are appointments. There is a doctor who gets away with malpractice constantly regardless of how many people complain about them. Same doctor has no empathy for sick animals and will allow dying pets to wait. They do nothing if you complain about bullying or hostile work environments including in upper management. There is absolutely no good communication between any department and even between PM and support staff. You will have to learnt to have no empathy and compassion for the animals and clients or it will break your mental sanity.
