Pros

Had an income for a while. Something to put on the resume. Gained experience.

Cons

What is the "company"? Nobody really knows. It is actually made up of a bunch of other companies that have a parasitic relationship with the only one of them making money that I guess had a terrible reputation to begin with. A lot of remote people I didn't even know. Had no idea what they do or who they are. (Cannot speak on the diversity thing; I don't know). No regard for employees beyond being tools. Like shopping around for the closest mule to ride until they don't need you anymore. The only motivation is making money and bringing in work that doesn't have anything to do with climate change, "first carbon" nobody even knows what this means. They are a document factory. This is pretty much all they are with minimal investment in their employees/mules. No training plan. No advancement. No support. Just 'who can do this for us'? No problem working you into the ground. Overwhelming you with work. They will throw some massive project at you and move on to the next contract and check in weeks later to see if you are done and if you're not, will make you feel really bad knowing all the time they gave you an impossible task but they 'kindly' offer to "talk to the client for you". No problem upselling clients into stuff they don't need. I felt sorry for the newer employees that were like looking around for help. A lot of gaslighting and ghosting. It's actually part of their "company" culture. Run, don't walk, away from this "company". Encourage clients to do the same.

Our Company’s mission is to create positive impact and value, which we strive for both externally (our projects support 11 of 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals) and internally (we provide opportunities for training and career growth to align directly with staff’s personal and professional goals). We currently have employees across 25 states to provide flexibility for both our staff and our clients’ diverse work, and we offer opportunities for social connection across teams. Our company culture is critical, and we encourage feedback through both an “open door” policy with HR and leadership, and a standardized annual “360” review. In 2024 we initiated an Employee Engagement committee to address this feedback, improve our processes, educate employees, and celebrate areas where we excel.

Pros

The company's mission it to creative positive impact and value, and they deliver on that both externally and internally. Working on projects that support responsible growth and development and advance the UN SDGs means that we can all take pride in our daily contributions. And, with remote work options and an open forum for career development, the company is invested in creating a positive impact in the team's lives. Despite having employees across many time zones, there are opportunities to connect virtually for "water cooler" time.

Cons

The US and larger global organization cover a wide range of brands, products, and service offerings, so it can be challenging to keep up with what other teams are working on as we get busy on individual projects. Learn Over Lunches and internal newsletters help to bridge those gaps.

Pros

Positive environment. I feel like I’m part of a team even though everyone is virtual. I appreciate the autonomy and responsibility given to me and that there is support when needed. Lots of highly trained experts in their fields to parter with and all are friendly; however’ it can be hard to schedule time with them. Management does a great job checking in with team members.

Cons

Deadlines are tight and expectations are high. Benefits are not extensive. Sometimes project directors are too deferential to clients.
