Pros
There is so much work job security is not an issue unless you run screaming out the door with no intention of returning. Other option I am considering is to have a nervous breakdown and go on FMLA for an extended vacation. I do like all my coworkers and most management even though they don't make the best decisions all the time.
Cons
People retire or quit and they either do not replace them OR they drag their feet in posting the job thus putting their current employees through un-necessary hell. I am resilient and will wait a couple of more months to see if I am being lied to. As of right now the only party benefiting from my extended hours, stress, and added pressures from new high level responsibilites is the company. I have seen this company drive many talented people out the door due to this same reason it is about to drive me out that same door.
