Was great to begin with, eventually became toxic - Customer Success Manager Fivetran Employee Review

Pros

Compensation is within or above industry standards. You work with a talented group of individuals and have a ton of Slack resources to refer to. Product is growing and there's a ton of value that customers recognize. Fivetran is also a partner to many of the big name's like Snowflake, Databricks, etc.

Cons

Became a toxic work environment. Upper management has no clue what's going on and simply throws demands for upsells/expansions with existing accounts -- to elaborate our NRR targets were 35% in a declining economy and they also raised quota at the same time as increasing the cost of Fivetran. Customers were churning left and right and we were advised to focus on "growth" conversations with existing customers so we can squeeze more money out of them come renewal time. Even customers who had ZERO change in their usage were expected to pay 15% more the following year. Would not recommend unless you want to be stressing 24/7 about hitting quota.

Pros

Product itself is solid and works well in its space Some smart, talented people at the IC level

Cons

Management quality is inconsistent at best, some managers lacked basic managerial skills and created a stressful, unproductive team dynamic. I can only speak for my department but culture has shifted from collaborative to highly individualistic; siloed thinking is now the norm. Directors and senior leadership are largely disconnected from ICs feedback goes nowhere and decisions often feel top-down without real input from the people doing the work. Career growth paths are unclear or nonexistent; promotions seem arbitrary and opportunities are hard to come by.
