Pros

None that I can think of. But they had good toilet paper in the office.

Cons

I always thought that what I'm about to tell you was the kind of thing you would only read about, but DEGIRO has managed to fulfil every single expectation. In order to archieve this they have required a perfect blend between corporativism and medieval mentality, which they exhibit by excelling in keeping low salaries (way below industry standards, even in Bulgaria), make employees do unpaid overtime, reject any kind of work cometee (been the only one allowed exclusively formed by the managers), and in general show work ethics that are not even applied in prisons. Let's start with the first things you'll have to experience in DEGIRO. They will promise you to reinburse your flight to relocate to Sofia, which translated into their language it means that once you arrive here no one will help you to request it, and if you manage to do it don't expect the reinbursement to happen any sooner than after 4 or 5 months. If you get to Sofia (or Amsterdam) to start working in the position of "Trading Assistant" or "Customer Service Representative" you will soon realise that it's literally a customer support job. Your main responsabilities will be changing passwords and explaining to old people how to use the platform. This position has nothing to do with finance, there is no prior finance knowledge required, or any kind of knowledge whatsoever. And even if they say you need a bachelors or masters degree don't believe that, some people are working there without any kind of degree. Same goes for work experience, none needed. Once you get to Sofia you will also "enjoy" another of the lies (a.k.a. Company benefits) they promise, which is the free accomodation (but for just a couple of months). Please don't expect it to be an ok looking room in an ok looking apartment. In theory, and according to their company regulations, all apartments must be clean and in proper conditions, but of course as you imagine they are all old and dirty places. You wouldn't even believe the kind of things you can find there. One kitchen I saw was so dirty that could have inspired Gordon Ramsay to record a documentary. One guy was placed in an apartment with moldy walls and humidities that according to HR they couldn't have fixed yet because they had happend just a couple of days ago, but according to the neighbours it happend some months ago and they found hard to believe that people could live like that. And one of our coleagues had a cockroach infection in his apartment when he first got there, and it took the company months, after many of his complaints, to get some disinfection. But because it was a 2 part treatment and the company didn't want to pay that much they only put the first part, and of course it wasn't enough and the plague was never fixed. To this same guy (better to refer to him as a freedom fighter) because he was showing photos of his apartment around and making formal complaints eventually the company lawyer sent him an official email saying that if he keept telling people how dirty was the apartment they would sue him. What a lovely way of caring for employees, why cleanign the dirt when it's easier to keep the people silenced? Changing the topic to talk about another department where DEGIRO shows it's true face: the HR department, whose employees are not only useless but do everything they can to create a toxic enviroment and make workers unsatisfied at the office. I remember it took them months to explain us how to use the health isurance, so wish you luck if you need to go to a doctor! HR won't help you, and don't forget that WORKING DURING YOUR SICK LEAVE IT'S A NORMAL THING IN THIS COMPANY. I believe that at this point you can already get the idea of how this company works, but I could go on telling more stories, like organising a company party and placing the employees of the Amsterdam, Austria and German offices in good modern hotels with individual rooms, and placing the employees of the Bulgarian office in an old hotel with shared rooms. Moral of the story: Just get the job, try to get your flight reimbursed and the free accomodation, work for a month and then quit. You'll be able to stay in the apartment for another month for free, there is a 30 day eviction notice. This is the best way to relocate to Bulgaria for cheap, so use it for help, once you're there just get a real job and find a decent apartment. Bulgaria is full of job oportunities with very competent salaries. But working in DEGIRO is not a real job.

Pros

Good starting point for a career in capital markets if you come from unrelated studies. You can learn a lot from different departments and promote internally.

Cons

Is not a performance focus company and there are quite a bit of politics.

Pros

It used to be a great company.

Cons

Now I wouldn't recommend it to most of my friends unless they are starters.
