Pros

Overtime is not common, and there are free lunch and breakfast. Around 15 days of PTO. Laptop is Mac.

Cons

1. The company has been built for ten years, yet it’s still not profiting. Which means you should not expect a high salary raise 2. Toxic environment in Asia. There are only two types of leaders there: one is the powerful ones who prioritize efficiency more than anything else, such as employees’ growth and wellbeing; others are just powerful followers who always obey or deny requests unreasonably because they want to keep their jobs. It is common that colleagues that worry most about their job security would target the talented teammates to push them to leave voluntarily. 3. If you’ve ever used Looker, you should’ve known how ridiculous it is that in Asia office, most people have to share one user account. And that’s just a snapshot of the system. 4. YOU WILL GET THREATENED IF YOU POST A COMMENT/QUESTION IN BIG PUBLIC SLACK CHANNELS. 5. Yes there is breakfast, but you have to arrive earlier to snatch them up. 6. HR won’t help you, they will help to keep things silent, such as sexual harassment. 7. Zero carrier opportunity if you unfortunately end up in the operation team. But stay for five years and do nothing, you should get a promotion. 8. Layoff every year. 9. Chinese leaders fake it in Slack and send the real command via WeChat and expect everyone to answer “copy that” in time.

Pros

Lots of really smart and nice people at the company. The culture has improved a lot recently. There's a good amount of room to develop and jump on things that you might not be exposed to in other companies.

Cons

The company moves a little too fast at times and maybe overlooks things that are working well and don't necessarily need to be changed for "efficiency" at the risk of doing things incorrectly. It can be hard to move up in some departments. work/life balance varies a lot by team.
