Pros
None that outweighed the negatives in my experience. I expected a strong work culture given Walmart's ownership, but my experience was the opposite. The organization fell far short of those expectations, particularly in terms of leadership, people management, and overall work environment.
Cons
Based on my experience, I strongly recommend avoiding the Analytics and Data Science department at Flipkart. One of the biggest issues is the lack of transparency during hiring. Candidates are often not clearly informed about the team they are being hired for, and even when a team is communicated during the interview process, it may be changed after joining. This creates unnecessary confusion and leaves employees with little control over their role. The work culture, in my experience, is highly toxic. I did not find a healthy or collaborative environment across the teams I interacted with. The management and leadership lack effective people management skills, resulting in poor planning, weak communication, and frequent organizational issues. I would especially advise against joining newer business verticals such as Flipkart Minutes or other newly established businesses. In my experience, these teams suffer from poor leadership and an unhealthy work environment. Another major concern is job security. The organization frequently undergoes layoffs, and from what I observed, employees are sometimes let go without clear communication or justification. This creates constant uncertainty and negatively affects morale. Overall, my experience with the Analytics organization was disappointing. If you are considering joining Flipkart, I would strongly advise evaluating the specific team very carefully. Personally, I would not recommend joining this organization.
