Florida Attorney General

Is this your company?

It was a job...at least it has that going for it. - Assistant Attorney General Florida Attorney General Employee Review

Pros

The only pros stem from the job being a state job. So as an attorney you get lots of vacation, and your choice of good health care plans. Other than that...maybe someone in real life will be impressed when you call yourself an Assistant Attorney General? I don't know.

Cons

This review only covers Children's Legal Services in Tampa since it's the only AG office I've worked out of. Working there was like working for some arcane royal court. Management was extremely sensitive to ay perceived slight or criticism. In a law office environment, one would think older attorneys would be interested in mentoring younger attorneys through cases. Instead, the managing attorneys and chief live only to document mistakes to your employment file. Do not think for for one minute that you as a person will be valued, as it is always made clear that you are easily replaced. This would perhaps be bearable if not for the churn and burn litigation mentality. Lawyers: don't come here thinking that you'll have reasonable hours. The place is a mill.
