Pros

Great leave policy, you can take off without having to worry about your job. Best health insurance coverage. Supervisors will make or break you. If you have a good one, keep in touch with them.

Cons

The pay, or lack thereof. You'll get a tiny raise after years of nothing, and be expected to be on your knees thanking the legislature. Not a lot of opportunities for growth. The only way to get paid more is to move agencies.

Pros

The job itself and helping the public was the only benefit of gratitude I felt. I was good at my job and enjoyed it until it wasn’t enjoyable anymore.

Cons

My experience as a dispatcher with this agency was deeply disappointing. What began as a promising opportunity became a hostile, micromanaged environment marked by discrimination, bullying, and ongoing harassment. Despite filing multiple complaints, concerns were never escalated beyond local supervision or properly addressed by HR. I was repeatedly singled out, spoken to inappropriately, and subjected to unprofessional behavior, while others were permitted to disregard workplace standards without consequence. The culture rewarded those who perpetuated toxicity and silenced those who tried to report it. This experience left lasting emotional and professional effects. I hope leadership will one day take accountability and create a respectful, inclusive environment for future employees.
