Pros

- Great place to learn and grow as a professional and teammate - Great perks like unlimited vacation policy, generous parental leave, and team activities - Close-knit team of talented creatives, administrators, and strategists (local and remote) - Work hard/play hard culture - Interesting clients and projects - Lots of personal and professional recognition - Co-founders are genuinely good people who care about their team

Cons

- Growing team with growing pains in terms of organizational structure - Fairly even distribution of authority (self-management in day-to-day tasks), but uneven distribution of responsibilities and workload (as in some people get slammed despite the "work to live" company ideal) - Sometimes there's a contradiction between the "keep it real" company standard and the expectation to shake it off and always be positive (can make it tough to speak up for fear of seeming negative)

Pros

Great colleagues. Strong culture. Supportive team. Collaborative through and through. Focus Lab puts its people first so they can put their best foot forward. And let me be more specific: For the past two years I've been the primary caretaker for a family member battling a host of health challenges — Focus Lab has given me the space, grace, and trust to be where I'm most needed, when I'm needed the most.

Cons

None, really. This has easily been the best place I've worked.

Pros

No job is "perfect" but Focus Lab is as close as I've ever gotten to my ideal job. You get to work with talented people who want to see each other succeed, you are valued by executives that prioritize the needs of their employees (aka real leaders!). At Focus Lab you're pushed to be the best you can be and are supported along the way—plus you get fantastic benefits on top of it all. Everywhere I've ever worked has boasted about prioritizing work-life balance but Focus Lab is the only company I've worked for that means it. You're given time to rest, you're not micromanaged, and the Slack banter is unrivaled.

Cons

If you're on a small team, things can inherently feel a little siloed and it takes a little more effort to get to know people in a remote environment. While there is ample room for professional growth, there is less room for role/title "advancement" (as is true of any smaller company).
