Pros

Great insurance benefits. People who are genuinely helpful and tied to the mission to help others. Wonderful opportunity to go to the countries that they serve and see the funds raised put to work to help others. Amazing to see lives transformed.

Cons

I was happy to have the experience of genuinely helping others - including 'adopting' a child in need from Haiti (figuratively through their Angel program). This wonderful mission is tainted by nepotism in Management, long-term untouchable employees who seem to have 'Teflon' and deflect every awful thing that they do to hurt their co-workers and act maliciously to undermine their work and reputation. The gossip and manipulation by senior members of management is atrocious and can only be attributed to 'no real experience' in dealing with complex issues or people management due to that fact that they are family members or in-country relatives (in areas served). There have been several major PR problems that are documented online in the news (if you like to verify its there), that are very visible and impact your ability to genuinely attest to donors, sponsors, etc., that this is a good organization that is prudent with the funds they are given. Hard to articulate the good with a large black cloud over your head when trying to fundraise. Alot of 'spin' to make it look good - but you have to suffer on the front line as a fundraiser to try and overcome the news, etc. Shameful. Embarassing. As a fundraiser, I was 'called out' by donors and funders on many occasions on these issues with the company - and had to rely on Sr. Mgmt to explain it.
