Business Manager, DO NOT RECOMMEND - Business Manager Fore Property Company Employee Review

Pros

The pay is decent, IF you only had to work a normal 40 hour week. Site staff was amazing, we were more like a family.

Cons

Honestly, the list is endless. 1. Upper management is extremely rude. They will reprimand an employee while on a conference call with your peers. 2. They require immediate results, but will not put forth necessary funds for marketing or upgrades. 3. Several huge capital improvements needed, but no budget to get done. Then you are interrogated on why it was not completed. 4. Long, very long hours. Several 12-14 hours days, weekends, etc. 5. Constant battle for payment of promised bonuses. 6. You are treated as only a number, there is no sense of job security. 7. Upper management will blatantly lie if they feel it will make you produce results quicker. 8. The micromanaging is unbearable. You are not allowed to make decisions on behalf of your community. Upper Manager is involved in every aspect of daily business. 9. There is a report about a report, about a report. Too many reports due that reiterate the same information. These reports may take anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days to complete. There is also a conference call to discuss each and every report in great detail with each property in the region (these calls can take up to 4 hours)

Pros

Available training and learning opportunities for ones professional career

Cons

Lack of pay transparency. Bonus structure inconsistencies. Upper management is overworked causing unavailability to subordinates when assistance or guidance is otherwise needed. Your work environment will become hostile quickly if you are perceived as one to call action or question procedural guidelines being situational verses true enforcement to avoid liability and potential safety to ones well being and the asset's structrural integrity. A LOT of petty gossiping and confidential employee information circulation. No true enforcement of proper chain of command and over reach from higher entities that otherwise have no scope to be conducting certain executive decisions. Emotional and psychological shut down when questioning authority. All in all, if you have any bit of integrity, you will be met with an iron fist. False information of true business operations are encouraged and passed along to investors and ownership to avoid further questioning. Do not bother wasting your time and energy because your intelligence is not welcome; they prefer a heads down approach and a "do what is told" regardless if it is in violation to compliance Federal legalities, or ethicacy.
