Pros

Decent office, if small. If you like playing board games, then good culure fit.

Cons

Very assembly-line like atmopshere to the work. A co-worker was very overworked and did not have the time to give me detailed documentaion, leaving me having to fill in some of the gaps. Cookie-cutter solutions are all that you'll have time to implement for most projects. Owner did all the estimates, and sometimes severely under-scoped a project that did not meet clients' expectation, leaving you trying to figure out creative solutions that would not incur extra development time to keep within budget while management eyes your logged hours like a hawk. As others mentioned, a "Sink or Swim" mentality towards hiring junior level employees. Turnover was very high for the short time I was there.

Forge and Smith Response

Poor reviews are always tough to read but we work to really embrace the criticism and improve the company as a whole. We strongly believe in process as a way to ensure a positive client experience and 100% satisfaction with the final product. This is our primary objective, at the end of the day we are a client services business, and servicing our clients is our main objective. Addressing documentation requirements is something we tightened up late last year, and have had significant success with. We've also made significant progress with reducing workload by leveraging outside contractors for peak times of the year, again with great success. Thank you again for providing this feedback, it's extremely valuable. I wish your time with us had been more positive and I wish you luck in all your future work.

Pros

The people are very friendly and easy to work with, culture, 100% remote work, 4 days work week, flexibility, profit sharing 2x a year, great extended heath insurance, $250 wellness amount a year to be spent on a lot of options, great leadership team, a lot of transparency including in the pay scale structure. Very friendly towards junior, a lot of room to develop skills. Definitely a hard combo to come by, I genuinely had an amazing experience at Forge.

Cons

Since the company is not very big, perhaps room for growth could potentially be an issue if you intend to be in a leadership role eventually. Mainly WordPress work if you're in development.
