Pros

Good individuals at work, Easy products to learn and work on, good salary

Cons

No learning-the work is such that a fresher can also handle efficiently. People who are appreciating the work place are only those who have stayed here since the organisation has begun or may be it is more than 3 years. Management is very rigid. They say the envionment is friendly and flexible but not for everyone. They consider people on case to case basis. If they like someone they would consider their all faults, if someone voice their thoughts, you are just gone man. Every now and then, they would make u realize that they are paying us for no work. Less appreciation and more bossy environment. No respect for exiting candidate until and unless you are not favorite of them. There is no common forum whom you can reach out if you have issues with manager/one level ahead. Firing is very frequent. In last 1 year, 11 people have been fired from organisation telling they were performing poor, but the fact remains the same that the management is poor. Internal politics between the management and the employees are very high.

Pros

Most of the people at Forte are absolutely amazing. They are smart, caring, and fun. Forte has many of the perks you'd expect in a software company including a game room, free snacks, and flexible hours. The volunteer time off policy and the health reimbursements are also fantastic fringe benefits. It's nice that it's located in Middleton and away from the usual traffic of downtown or Epic.

Cons

My struggle with Forte is likely somewhat unique to my situation. I just couldn't find my "niche", and after months of poking around to see how to best fit in, I decided my best bet was to look elsewhere. The PTO and bereavement policies seem a bit antiquated, but I have my fingers crossed that enough people have voiced this concern that Forte will alter their policies in the next year or two. I'm not going to focus much on the cons of Forte because overall it was and is a fantastic company, and it remains the best software company that I know of in the Madison area. That being said, there are some elements of truth in other reviewers' negative comments about Forte--particularly in regard to product direction and career progression.
