I completed a paid trial project for this company that was described as the first step toward a longer-term role. Before I even received the assignment, the company delayed giving it to me for nearly a month, while repeatedly telling me that a position was coming and that this project would move things forward. The delay, constant rescheduling, and lack of clarity showed very little respect for my time. When the assignment was finally provided, I completed it exactly according to the instructions and submitted it on time. However, throughout the entire process, communication from the company was inconsistent, unclear, and often unprofessional. After submitting the work, the feedback I received did not match the original directions, and the collaboration was ended immediately afterward without an opportunity to revise anything. Communication then stopped, and payment was never issued for the agreed-upon hours—despite the month-long lead-in. When I tried to follow up and resolve the situation, the responses I received were not aligned with the professional standards I expected. I documented the interaction because of the nature of the communication. I contacted leadership as well, but did not receive confirmation that the situation would be reviewed. Overall, expectations were unclear, communication felt unpredictable, and my time was not respected. Being delayed for a month, assured a role was coming, and then left without payment was extremely concerning. Based on my experience, I would not recommend working with this company as a freelancer or as an employee. Professionalism, clear boundaries, and fair treatment were not upheld.
