Pros

Sitel has offered me a very flexible working envirment. I have a lot of health problems and have been disabled for 20 years. Not working put me into a serious depression. After completing my A.S. degree in information Tech. I found Sitel and that allows me to help people with the problems they are having with their computers.

Cons

I am a fully trained computer technician, but in order to get the position where I could work from home and actually work on the problems in people's computers that go beyond changing wallpaper or making an icon, there is a rule that you must live more than 55 miles away from the call center. If I could be a level 2 fulfillment agent that would allow me to make enough money that I could get off of disability and that would allow me to work more hours. As a call center agent I can only work part time because full time would put me over the SSA limits but not to a point that would make up for losing my disability Check so I would be working more to loose money and benefits.

Pros

Some level of job security. You know exactly what you're doing because it's a call center. Different client projects that you could apply to be part of. Located in Orem by the mall. Decent pay ($25 an hour... for now).

Cons

You can't have anything on the call floor depending on the client (I support Intuit, so there are no phones, paper, pencils, books... nothing). The benefits are atrocious. PTO doesn't start until after 6 months. Company politics and favorites exist here. I'd say about 30% of calls get transferred to us from other departments (Payroll, Payments, Desktop, Saves, Sales, pretty much everyone) that should not have been transferred and could have been solved without us. They're going to hire more account resolution specialists soon after so many agents left, and they're starting their pay at $20 an hour.... so just think about what means for us. You get one occurrence per day you are absent even if you call in sick. I think 10 is the limit.
