Pros
-Really friendly atmosphere, lovely people -Everyone is happy to help you learn and succeed - My job, and most of the other entry level jobs are customer service (but it's the best, most enjoyable customer service job I've ever had) -Bosses are very accommodating to time off requests and personal needs - Most ever part-timer is paid the base pay of $16/hr since they raised their minimum wage last year - Very flexible when scheduling - So many opportunities to incorporate some individual talents or skills into the workplace (great for creative people, of which they have a ton)
Cons
-Since a majority of the workers have been with the library for so long (most have been there for +10 years), opportunity for advancement is really slim - Even with a degree, unless you're applying for a full-time position like Librarian, Library Specialist, Accountant, Full-time Clerk, etc. it's very hard to get more than 12 hours a week on your regular schedule. -Their are 16 hour a week jobs, but they have limited spots for them and those usually get hired internally since they come with benefits like vacation time and insurance
