Pros

I would like to say a weekly wage but at times they couldn't even manage that! There are some lovely people working on the ground but they are not appreciated.

Cons

Where do I start, Senior management I suppose! I worked at the company for one year and my experience was predominantly negative. The Directors and managers understandably are only concerned with the bottom line. To that end food safety, the law and employee well-being are irrelevant to them. As another employee mentioned changing food labeling was rampant to increase use by dates and to meet customer specifications! There would be constant meat and blood going down the drain which can only be bad for the environment as the treatment plants seem old and unable to capture all this. Sectarianism is widespread and a certain Director was widely known for his discrimination when it came to Catholic employees (Mr. McElwain). There were constant stories on his unfair treatment and comments towards them! Their employee disciplinary procedures are unfair and it all depends on who you know. The pay is well below typical for this industry for e.g. £16,000 for a new graduate (BSc qualified). During big inspections, they pull out all the stops and expected us to behave like model employees but little did the customers know what it is really like. This is a cutthroat company both literally and psychologically!
