Pros

Open communication with supervisors, Great quick IT support if needed. Options for Remote work

Cons

structured, rigid curriculum. DTT based program. Being remote leaves little room for advancement, and tasks are thrown on you often because you are not on site.

Pros

- Department heads are experienced, compassionate and hard-working. Great work with. - Great cohort of teachers. Some long-term teachers that are just experts in their field as well as the art of teaching and being a teammate. - Receptionist, admin assistant, IT, building manager are awesome to work with. - Small class sizes. You'll rarely find that. - Strong collaborative spirit among folks working directly with students. - Good pay.

Cons

- Two-star rating due to senior leadership. Some serious lack of transparency, due process, coherence and general know-how. It's bad to the extent that it warrants a demotion to 2 stars. - Super high turnover level. Unreal. I believe it was over 30% two years ago. This includes total lack of consistency in head of school. - Relatively poor benefits/RRSP & no pension plan - of course, worse than public positions, but not sure if also worse than other independent schools.

Pros

The teachers are great and very committed

Cons

Upper management is more concerned with PR and leveraging donations than positive outcomes for students. Teachers absolutely will be pressured to the point of dismissal for refusing to give good marks to major donors children.
