Pros

Workload is manageable. Dictation system is an efficient way that the attorneys delegate work on files. Pay is weekly and salary is good but not worth it.

Cons

Micromanaged firm and no room to voice issues or concerns, they get ignored and brushed under the rug anyway. No HR personnel to handle employee complaints. The office manager is unprofessional & displays favoritism. Not completely her fault, they promoted a paralegal to office manager who has no managerial experience and no directive. Employees know how much PTO time other employees have left, who is getting written up before it happens, and everyone’s health issues and business when a coworker calls out. Too much gossip leading to a toxic work environment. Very poor work/life balance. If you have children or are supporting anyone with needs at home, do not even apply here. They pick and choose who can work from home and who can’t (favoritism). No room for human error. They expect you to be a robot & begin working at 9 a.m. If you come in at 9:01 you are getting written up. It doesn’t matter if you come in a few minutes late and stay late, they also penalize you and write you up. They want to write up employees for everything. Easiest way to experience burnout is working here. HIGH turnover.

Pros

I am incredibly grateful to be a part of Fredson Statmore Bitterman, LLC. This firm genuinely values and appreciates its employees, ensuring that everyone is heard, considered, and respected. Communication and respect are clearly top priorities here, which creates a positive and encouraging environment for all. Before joining FSB, I worked at a firm where employees were overlooked, overworked, and treated as if they were insignificant. The atmosphere was toxic, and growth opportunities were nonexistent. Starting at FSB felt like a breath of fresh air. From day one, I was welcomed with respect, and my hard work and dedication have been consistently recognized and appreciated. I have now been with the firm for a few years, and I absolutely love my job and the people I work with. The culture is uplifting, and the firm actively encourages professional growth, providing endless opportunities to develop skills and advance within the company. If you're looking for a firm that truly values its employees and fosters a positive work environment, Fredson Statmore Bitterman, LLC is the place to be!

Cons

Since the firm is rapidly expanding, adapting to new systems, procedures, or personnel changes can be challenging.

Pros

Working at the firm exposes employees to a high volume of personal injury cases, which can provide insight into how fast-paced plaintiff firms operate. Some members of the support staff work hard and try to help each other when possible. Various areas of law practiced and employer does offer competitive pay.

Cons

In my experience, the workload for paralegals is extremely high and often difficult to manage effectively. The environment is very fast-paced with a strong emphasis on moving cases forward quickly, which can make the work feel more focused on volume than on the overall client experience. Salary but more hourly. Staff required to clock in and off while actively working. The workplace culture was one of the most difficult and terrible aspects of the job. The environment always felt competitive rather than collaborative, and it could be challenging to feel supported if you were not closely aligned with leadership. Very “mean girl” and cliquey. At times it felt that employees whose work style or personalities were not favored by leadership were scrutinized more closely or called out for issues that others might not be, which made the environment feel uncomfortable and discouraging. Preferential treatment to some is shown by far. It seemed like overseeing individual was “go to”- but not bar licensed just connected. Communication and transparency from management were not always clear, which sometimes left staff uncertain about expectations and priorities. Turnover among staff appeared to be fairly frequent, resulting in multiple paralegals handling the same cases over time. This can create additional pressure for employees and inconsistency in case management for clients. The firm also relies on older systems and manual processes for filing and requesting records, which can slow down workflow and make the process less efficient than firms using more modern technology.
