Pros

If you work hard, you'll get more work. Some cutting-edge technology (RFDs, drones, serial number 1 equipment, autonomous vehicles, directional drilling). Hands on work. Fast paced. Decent pay and opportunities to save. Fair amount of autonomy.

Cons

What few women work for the company are mostly in administrative roles. Blatant sexism in the workplace: "I don't know how to talk to women"; catcalling; "You're being too pushy about this promotion," but consistently promotes men with less experience, fewer contributions, and less impactful work; being held back from doing physical work because, "I just don't want you to get hurt." There are little to no concerted efforts happening to remedy this issue. It is a systemic problem pushed down by the "old boys club" of upper management. Their goal is to achieve a 15% female workforce and they missed it in 2018. LGBTQ+? Good luck. "Don't ask, don't tell" is the best way to describe Freeport's approach to diversity. Insane pressure to work 50-60HRS/week and answer calls at all hours of day/night, even on weekends. Technical professionals are glorified well before they've earned it, so many of the supervisors/managers don't have the social skills needed to be truly good leaders. Insular hiring tendencies.
