Pros

They really care about their students and bring a lot knowledge to the table. The teaching material is well thought through, sometimes overwhelming for students.

Cons

Was micromanaged on a level unknown to me. They have an employment and management structure that it almost came to my mind that they are a cult! A lot of their strategies are difficult to teach and to understand for the student. They micromanage you on what you teach and record your sessions so that they most likely can even copy your teaching methods and use them in the future on their own. I had some students being totally overwhelmed by the material yet I was not allowed to deviate from Freestyles so called teaching methods. They also want you as an advertisement figure on multiple social media platforms to market their lessons and methods better. Not that I only got totally underpaid, their payment structure is hard to understand. I thought I would make an amount as communicated with them prior but all the sudden I got $9 less hourly! Nobody responded to my first friendly but later determined emails about this issue. I stayed in contact with some other former instructors and everybody told me basically the same, underpaid, micromanaged and cult like structure. This is a side job kind of job but they take so much time away from you with all their trainings videos and online meetings that some days I felt like I’m a full hire. Making only $18 hourly I can go flip burgers at a fast food chain on the side and get more out of it.

Pros

Well-organized program with clear structure and expectations. All teaching materials are provided, and paid training is a major plus. There is also access to ongoing workshops and training sessions, which are optional but paid if you attend. Management is supportive and respectful, and help is available when needed. Questions and technical issues are handled in a constructive way. There is a strong sense of community among teachers, with real collaboration and opportunities to share ideas. Students are engaged, respectful, and a pleasure to teach.

Cons

This is not the ideal environment for teachers who prefer a very loose or unstructured approach. The program requires preparation and following a defined methodology. There is also a learning curve at the beginning because of the different tools and systems used.

Pros

- The students are the best part of this job. It is a pleasure to help them develop their language and positively impact their lives. - Learning model is innovative and aims to be accessible for learners who don't have previous experience

Cons

Constantly changing expectations for instructors. Management expects a level of devotion and dedication that is unrealistic for a part-time role, while stringing along employees with empty promises of future promotions. It used to be a lot better when instructors were given adequate time to prepare classes. Now it seems as though management is more concerned with penny pinching than they are with delivering meaningful, quality language classes (especially with the transition to a 2 Day model). Of course, they are unreceptive to constructive criticism, and anything other than "toxic positivity" is usually shot down immediately. No wonder there is such a high turnover for instructors and other staff. Also, the learning model can often seem convoluted to students
