Open floor plan does not work well and is uncomfortable at times and creates more tension. Human Resources does little to help the employee complaints and will go above and beyond to discredit your claims against management. The overall culture of the place is do as I say, not as I do. Management is not ideal and they take their power and run with it, as their superior does not know their daily activities in depth so they do as they please as far as their managerial style and attitudes. Rudeness is the norm and not wanting to help goes unnoticed and brushed under the rug. Executives are very demanding and not in touch with what can be done effectively in a timely manner and this pressure on managers trickles down to their team in a negative way. Work life balance for managers is completely off, adding to the major problem in the building. Women are often overlooked when openings for a higher position become available and the company also does not usually hire within.
