Chiquita/Fresh Express took a serious nose-dive after being purchased buy Cutrale. they are proof that the U.S. does not have a monopoly on flagrant nationalism and favoritism. They treat the employees like dirt -- particularly Americans. This is a terrible place to work. The only things protecting employees from worse treatment are state labor and wage laws and unions. If you are working for a FEX location outside of California, don't expect to be paid for unused PTO when you leave the firm. California wage law does not allow employers to withhold unused PTO wages. Few other states do. Cutrale radically kneecapped the benefits structure after purchasing CQB/FEX. 401K match was reduced to nearly nothing. PTO benefit was reduced and they attempted to force the use in large multi-day chunks instead of one day at a time as wanted/needed. Healthcare benefits were scaled back to anemic plans. If you must accept a job at this shiat-hole, ask for their policy handbook in advance of accepting. Be sure ask your interviewer and HR what their favorite things are about working there. They may be stymied to come up with an answer.
