Pros

zero pros, nothing but a bad experience

Cons

Within two weeks of working for this company the owner yells at office staff and corrects employees in a humiliating and very public way. He will have a company meeting and speak publically about your mistakes and say things like you shouldn't feel bad about your mistake just learn and grow from them. If would even put the manager on blast about her mistakes when she was new. Yet he does not foster a learning environment with his daily criticism and belittling employees. When he hires a cleaner he schedules meeting to talk with them about their pay so that he can explain they are paid per job and not per "cleaning hour" as often mentioned on his job advertisements...16-18 per cleaning hour. Many cleaners feel cheated out of their money. He will demote cleaners when they receive too many customer complaints. If too many customers cancel that one or two or more cleaner have cleaned for, he suspects that cleaners are stealing his customers, he lacks trust in everyone...but tells you he is very trustworthy. He will never admit it but he often questions them about why their customers are canceling. He will decrease pay if too many customers cancel that youve cleaned for and ultimately fire you, so no job stability. Noone can be late except for him, if you are late he writes you up, if you get two or more "RED LIGHT" complaints you will be written up, demoted in pay, and/or fired...again no job stability. He tries to appear that he cares about people that work there but the whole time he knows that he is providing things likes gloves, socks, hand warmer etc. as it is psychology, not that he cares, he wants you to THINK he cares! He tries to SELL people the job by connecting to their emotions! what bs...and you can tell during the phone interview he is trying to sell you on the job. Its like going on an interview to sell things door to door, they too try to sell the job to you bc the job is trash! He repeats himself non stop. He forces cleaners fill out a job survey that states how happy they are with the job and everyone lies just so they dont have to argue with him bc he does not accept critism well, very argumentative....very combative, very hostile. A cleaner actually texted the scheduler this and she was too afraid to tell him. He hardly lets you get a word in during a "converstation" with him. Thats why his employees avoid talking to him. Then he gets mad that people just stare at him blank for an hour until he shuts th up. Then he says he needs for people to tell him that they understand or dont otherwise he keeps talking, he takes zero soical ques. He does not know when to shut up. He will hold you up for hours repeating himself. The scheduler complains to everyone that will listen about the owner becuase she is too afraid to tell him herself until she get frusterated. He forces her to snitch on the office staff. If you think you are telling the scheduler something in confidence please belive she is telling the owner. The owner tells employees personal bsuiness to the whole company DURING meetings! When someone leaves the compnay from being fired or quitting, he does not even mention their name anymore, just ignores the fact they are not there anymore. The schedler and all the office staff are not appreciated. Tries to force employee to come to office "parties" and MEETINGS on their OFF days! Makes the scheduler work 10-11 hour days, I Interviews are conducted in the front of the office in where the office staff can hear every word, just really uncomfortable. You have to interview 3 times for this job and take drug test...its a cleaning job not working for the white house! When you get the job you will be forced to wash towels, lug around a suitcase full of cleaning supllies, and be pressured to take pictures without your consent. the supllies do not actually cleaner good but you will be blamed if the customer complains. All for disrespectful treatment, pay, and watching others being treated unfairly and not appreciated.

Fresh Tech Maid Response

We are very sad to read this review. There are some helpful feedback here and there in the above review. But, this review is dominated by false information. This employee worked at Fresh Tech Maid only about 6 months (not 1 to 2 years stated). She found the job was beyond her skill set. Her employment ended in about 6 months.. Fresh Tech Maid has one of the best client reviews among all home service providers in Chicago, with a total of more than 1500 5-star client reviews. For 7 years in a row, we are the Best Pick of maid services in Chicago Land by the Best Pick Report. Our hard working cleaning technicians and managers deliver happiness to our clients one cleaning a time. How a company with such a great client reputation can possibly have a culture and practice described by this failed employee? Still, we will always continue to improve ourselves, including from some feedbacks in this review. In the meantime, we reject the false descriptions (so many) in this review. Our cleaning technician's job is not "trash" as stated in this review. We are proud of what we do every day - helping families, women, and seniors to make their days a lot easier and better! Yes, we are proud!

Pros

Zero-Theft Culture: The company’s 12-step hiring process and decade-long record of zero theft complaints isn’t just a promise—it’s a lived value. Trust here isn’t a slogan, it’s a system. Incredible Team Consistency: Thanks to a turnover rate less than 1/3 the industry average, you actually work with familiar, reliable coworkers—not a revolving door of strangers. Training That Sets You Up for Success: Fresh Tech Maid invests heavily in onboarding and advocacy training. From property safety to chemical-free techniques, I always felt empowered and well-prepared. Quiet & Respectful Work Environment: The Work-from-Home cleaning approach emphasizes mindfulness and silence—great for introverts and for clients working remotely. Transparent and Ethical Management: Pricing transparency isn’t just for customers. Internally, expectations are clear, decisions are explained, and employee input is respected.

Cons

Client feedback is immediate and prioritized—which means you need to be open to constructive criticism regularly.
