Pros
FreshBooks operating model was revamped in 2023 to eliminate silos and foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration. This enabled a much more agile product development process and engineering now plays a key part in strategic decision-making. All the people across the organization are great to work with. In any interaction with someone from Marketing, Sales, Support, Finance, Business Development, Product Management, and Design it is outstanding to see the alignment and professionalism but also the sheer joy that they bring to their work life.
Cons
In 2023, there were a couple of rounds of layoffs that should have been handled differently and with much better communication. However, considering the current market and focused product strategy, they make sense overall.
